Jerome “Jerry” Sevart


Jerome “Jerry” Sevart, 84, of Cameron, WI, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away at Mayo Clinic Northland, Barron, WI on Monday, March 18, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NW Cookingham Rd., Kansas City, MO.

Jerry was born July 22, 1934, in Kansas. He worked as an electrical lineman and had just received his 60-year pin from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. On July 11, 2008, he married Elaine “Bink” Hover at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Cameron, WI with a family reception held at the farm of Mitch and Janine Hansen (daughter of Bink”. Jerry and Bink traveled to Edinburgh, TX every October through May to be “Winter Texans.” Jerry was a lover of warm weather and looked forward to their southern winters, but Jerry experienced his “first winter in the snow” as he and Bink finally settled year-round on the family farm east of Cameron, WI. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, collecting of gas engines and gardening, watching the elk and “scooting” around on the farm. His favorite pastime was playing with his kitten named precious. All of his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids were his pride and joy. He was especially known for his homemade hot pepper green beans, BBQ ribs and jalapeno jelly.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of Cameron, WI; son: Joe Sevart (Nancy) of Independence, MO; daughter Jeanne Pasley (Bob) of Pleasant Hill, MO; stepsons: Joel Tracy (Sue) of Chetek, WI, Gus Tracy (Tamra) of Genoa City, WI, Mike Hover (Claudine) of Rice Lake, MT; stepdaughters: Connie Van De Kop of Bozeman, MT, Jacqui Schneider (Pete) of Rice Lake, MT, Janie Hansen (Mitch) of Cameron, WI; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, his first wife Pat and a step-grandson Auhston Hansen.
