Steven D. Sisk


Steven Douglas Sisk, age 52, of Sibley, Missouri, died unexpectedly Monday, September 7th, 2015.  He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, August 11th, 1963, the youngest of three children.  His parents are Charles Edward Jr. and Beverly Jo Sisk.  The family moved to Sibley, Missouri, in 1968 when Steven was 5 years old.  He attended school there and graduated from Fort Osage High School with the class of 1981.  Steven was also known by the nick name of “Steve” by family members and close friends. 

Steve enjoyed grilling and smoking a turkey or hams every chance he could get.  He especially enjoyed smoking the meat for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Steve started going to auctions at the age of 8 to bid on his own prized antiques and items that interested him. He was an avid bidder on eBay and he enjoyed collecting old oil lamps and antiques. 

Steve took welding in Vo-Tech in high school and was awarded a welding diploma.  He did some welding, home construction and farming for his dad.  Steve loved his birds.  He had built a cage for up to 25 birds in his room upstairs.  He was kind hearted and enjoyed nature. 

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents.  He was married for a brief time to Dana Sheil with no children. 

He is survived by his parents, Charles Edward Jr. and Beverly Jo Sisk of Sibley, MO; a sister, Carolyn Joyce Mullins of Sibley, MO; a brother, Phil (Georgene) Sisk of Sibley, MO; and four nieces and nephews: Kristi Sisk, of Kansas City, KS, and Tim, Brian and David Mullins of Sibley, MO; six great nieces and nephews: Ashton Mullins, Gage Davis, Logan Mullins, Kayden Mullins, Kendahl Bodenhamer, and Kilee Mullins; along with many other family members and friends.
