Freda Mae Sons, 75, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial following in Salem Association Cemetery, Independence. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Freda was born May 4, 1941, in Camden County, Missouri, the daughter of Leslie and Dorothy Hammer. She loved shopping and going to garage sales to find knick-knacks. She enjoyed watching TV, especially CSI: Miami.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Philip Ralph Sons.
Her survivors include her son, Wayne Sons of Independence; friends Larry & Lisa Zupon of Independence; aunt, Mildred Cooley of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; and her two beloved cats, Chloe and Calleigh.
