Tammy S. Stowell


Tammy S. Stowell, 52, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Nov. 10, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Joplin, Mo., on Mar. 16, 1964, the youngest daughter of Betty and Charles E. Stowell. Tammy attended Blue Springs High School and earned an associate’s degree in Business Management from Vatterott College.

Tammy lived an exceptional life with unmatched enthusiasm and courage. Always committed to her family and friends, she could be depended on for boundless support. For the past 22 years, she served the community through her work in patient assistance at Southwest Boulevard Family Medical Center, where she supported the underserved and impoverished seeking medical care.

Tammy loved listening to the blues, cooking for friends and family, and walking her dog, Stevie Ray. She could be found on Sundays cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and in warmer months, she took pride in her gift for gardening between weekend trips camping or heading out to the lake. For Tammy, every day was a new chance for a bit of adventure.

 She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Stowell. She is survived by her mother Betty Stowell, step-mother Judy Stowell, sister Shari Kretzschmer, and brother Terry Stowell. She enjoyed a large extended family, including sister-in-law Glenda Stowell; nieces Kerri, Kristine, and Kendall Stowell; nephew Matthew Kretzschmer and his wife Ashley; and many cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, with the Memorial Service following from 11 a.m. to Noon at Royer Funeral home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, Mo. 64029. A Celebration of Life reception will be held after the service at 29210 SE AA Highway, Blue Springs, Mo. 64014. The family would like to give special thanks to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.

Each day, Tammy showed everyone around her how to love much and laugh often. She will be greatly missed by all.
