Donald Herman Stiegemeyer, 78, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Don will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28th in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. A funeral procession led by the Patriot Guard will leave the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice in Don’s name.
Don was born June 22, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Herman and Caroline (Hensick) Stiegemeyer. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Don was the warehouse foreman at Fixtures Furniture for 33 years. He enjoyed woodworking.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda in 2013; and brother, Raymond Stiegemeyer.
His survivors include three children: James “Chip” Stiegemeyer (Cheryl) of Oak Grove, Steve Stiegemeyer (Nancie) of Los Angeles, CA, and Carol Stiegemeyer of Grain Valley; five grandchildren: Ashley, Dylan, Logan (T.J.), Mara, and Cody; brother, Edmond Stiegemeyer (Jody) of Independence, MO; sister, Velma Romans of Kansas City, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
