Janet E. Syler, 64, of Independence, MO passed away April 8, 2016 after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Janet was born January 11, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Clayton C. Breuer and Esther C. (Hall) Breuer. Janet married Gerald W. Syler on March 27, 1971 and they just celebrated their 45th Anniversary.
Janet was preceded in death by her father. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband Gerald of the home; two children, Stephanie Wetzel & husband Reuben of Liberty, MO, Garret Syler & wife Stacie of Liberty, MO; 4 grandchildren: Brandon Wetzel, Nathan Wetzel, Austin Syler, Chase Syler; mother, Esther of Napoleon, MO; sister, Karen Nieweg & husband Kenny of Napoleon, MO; brother, Daniel Breuer of Napoleon, MO; niece, Kelly Beckner & husband Jeff with 3 children: Lillian, Lacey, Lauranell; nephew, Kevin Nieweg & wife Jillian.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, private family services will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Janet’s name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at http://give.bcrfcure.org/janetsylermemorial.
