Paul Edward Thompson, 80, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th at Colbern Road Restoration Branch, 9525 Lake Lotawana Road, Gate 2, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Paul was born August 14, 1938, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Edwin Lee Sr. and Lula Opal (Large) Thompson. He served in the National Guard and was a life-long member of the Colbern Road Restoration Branch, where he held the office of Priest. Paul was a long-time farmer and drove a handicap bus route for Ft. Osage Schools for 18 years. He also did construction clean-up. Paul was a very kind man and loved everyone, especially children and animals.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edwin Thompson Jr.; sister, Betti Jean Wyatt; and nephew, Edwin Thompson III.
His survivors include his sister-in-law, Mona Thompson of Oak Grove; two nieces, Judy Thompson of Oak Grove, and Elizabeth Wyatt of Thayer, MO; nephew, Gerald Barker of TN; and his extended family.
