Teresa Marie Thompson, 84, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home; burial following in Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery, Levasy, Missouri.

Teresa was born in Macon, MO, daughter of John and Amelia (Burkhart) McNamara. She raised her family working on the farm and her kids were her life. She worked at Sexton Metal Craft for 10 years before joining her children working at Nationwide RV. She was an avid dart player who loved throwing darts with her kids and friends and she was 1994 MVP female player. She loved cruising and watching whales and the oceans. She spent many hours quilting and loved her bingo, traveling and was a member of Evangelistic Center Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Thompson in 1986; all of her siblings; and 2 sons, Donald Gene Thompson and Timothy Mark Thompson. Her survivors include her 7 children, Donna Long of Grain Valley, MO, George (Cathy) Thompson of Independence, MO, Butch (Marsha) Thompson of Odessa, MO, Sherry (Larry) Adreme of Oak Grove, MO, John (Vikki) Thompson of Odessa, MO, Abe (Luann) Thompson of Bates City, MO and Danny Thompson of Grain Valley, MO; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family
