Della Mae Tumlinson, 91, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Della was born November 16, 1924 in Marshall, Missouri, the daughter of Frank Cunningham and Anna Thomas. She married Harry James Tumlinson on November 7, 1969, and they were together for 26 years until his passing on October 31, 1995. Della attended Heart of God Church in Sibley, MO, and lived in Independence most of her life.
Della is survived by a son, Thomas Edward Titus and wife, Susan of Sibley, MO; a daughter, LeeAnna Larsen and husband Ed of Odessa, MO; 2 step-daughters, Delores Dickey of Hermitage, MO, and Della May Saffles of Harrisonville, MO; brother, Cecil Cunningham of Pea Ridge, MO; four grandsons: Edward Shawn, Shane, Joseph, and Joshua; ten granddaughters: Carolyn, Natalie, April, Melissa, Mindy, Shannon, Sarah, Christina, LeAnn, and DeLeta; 32 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Harry; 5 sisters: Margaret, Jane, Francis, Jean, and twin sister Daisy; 3 brothers: William, C.H. and Earnest; a granddaughter, Anna Smith; and a great-grandson, Jacob Springer.
