Marley Dean Booker, 78, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22nd at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Marley was born December 14, 1942, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Bud and Vivia (Johnson) Booker. He attended Oak Grove High School and served in the U.S. Army for 3 years. Marley was a hard worker and loved to work with his hands. He had worked at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Armco Steel, and also spent many years working construction with his brother. Marley was one of the first employees at Walmart in Oak Grove. He always saw the best in everyone.
Marley was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy, Royce, and Bennie; and sister, Mary Lou.
His survivors include his wife, Annette Booker; two daughters, Angela Booker and Katherine Booker; stepdaughter, Lannette Nicholson; stepson, Shawn Todd; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
