
James Elbert Alderton, 82, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29th at Royer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A Graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, Missouri.
James was born July 24, 1938 in Quincy, Illinois to Harvey and Clara (Minor) Alderton. He was a wonderful husband, father and, friend. James was a man of God that went to East Point Family Church for 13 years. His favorite scripture is John 3:16 “for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so whoever believe in him should not parish but have ever lasting life.” James loved going to Walmart and witnessing to random people. In his younger years he worked at General Motors for 25 years, then retired in 2000. Many family and friends have been served by him his favorite Steaks that he cooked on the grill. James married his beloved wife in 2004 in there Grain Valley Home surround by his children, step children and grand kids. He spent his final years in the same home with his cherished wife, 2 dogs and 2 birds. James is loved and missed by many. He is now home and walking with JESUS!
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Alderton in 1996; four sisters: Shirley, Joyce Ann, Rose Sharon and Connie Sue; two brothers: Lavern and Gary Ray.
James is survived by his wife, Janis Alderton of the home; three children: daughter, Julia of Overland Park KS., son, Jimmy of Aberdine SD., and daughter Cristal, of Monmouth IL; three sisters: Diane, Glenda, and Minnie all of CA; sister-in-law, Jenette Alderton of Grain Valley, MO; Many grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
