Gloria Elena Armstrong age 65 of Independence, MO passed away on Monday January 7, 2019. Services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 12:00 p.m. at the New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, MO. the family will greet guests starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment rite will take place 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
Gloria was born on December 18, 1953 in Independence, MO the daughter of Theodore and Carlotta (Munos) Garcia. She married John Russell Armstrong on June 1, 1971 he preceded her in 2017. Gloria had an infectious personality and could lighten up any room. She loved her jewelry, bling and her sweet tea from QT. She could be ornery and made sure you knew she was the boss and she always got her way. Gloria loved her grandkids and her dogs, she will be deeply missed.
Gloria is survived by four children: Grace Armstrong, Jody (Mark) Rodgers, Mario Armstrong and John Armstrong all of Independence, MO. six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four sisters: Margaret King, Rosemary Gonzales, Talisa Garcia and Renee Garcia, three brothers: Theodore Garcia, Mario Garcia and Michael Garcia also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John and one sister: Rachel
