Frank E. Blanton Jr., 76, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13th at St. Robert Bellarmine, Blue Springs; burial in Perdee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Frank was born on September 18, 1933 in Dalhart, Texas, the son of Frank E. and Clara J. (Husler) Blanton Sr. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank married Joyce Deshazer in June 1959. He was a machinist for Armco Steel, retiring in 1995. He loved woodworking and traveling.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Phillip Blanton.
His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Blanton; four children: Frank Blanton III & wife Polly, Lisa Amor & husband Tom, Mitch Blanton & wife Diane, John Blanton & wife Tina; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters: Florence Koeth, Pat Scally, Sue Kress, Mary Fields; and several nieces & nephews.
