Savannah M. Walters


Savannah Mariah Walters, 21, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1st at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Cedar Dale Cemetery, Papillion, Nebraska.

Savannah was born January 21, 2000 in Kansas City, Missouri to Randy and Elvia (Montejano) Walters Jr. At the age of four, Savannah was diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia, a rare blood disorder; it required blood transfusions every 5 weeks. At the age of 13, she lost her Mother and best friend, Elle. By the 8th grade Savannah had already endured so much however, she went on to do very well in high school and competed in debate and cheer at Blue Springs South. During her time as a cheerleader she won The Most Spirited award twice. After graduation Savannah fell in love with the city of Manhattan, KS and became a Wildcat at K-State. She attended classes there while working full time at Jimmy John’s and was on the Dean’s list her very first semester. Savannah was an absolute joy to be around. Her personality was infectious and her smile contagious. She would do anything for anyone. Savannah impacted so many lives and will be missed by so many.

She was preceded in death by her mother and maternal Grandmother, Esperanza Montejano

Savannah is survived by her father, Randy Walters Jr. (Lacy) of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother, Joseph Walters of Lee’s Summit; paternal Grandfather, Randy Walters Sr. of Grain Valley, MO; paternal grandmother, Clydene Justus of Grain Valley; maternal grandfather, Ray Montejano of El Paso TX; cousin, Lexus Hayes of Lee’s Summit; and aunt, Delia Raitt of Escondido CA.
