Charles R. Crist, 63, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9th at First Baptist Church of Cross Timbers, Cross Timbers, MO; burial in Fairview Cemetery, Cross Timbers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charles R. Crist Memorial Fund.
Charles was born on December 23, 1946, the son of Charles C. and Pauline (LaRose) Helmig. He worked with the Blue Springs School District for 35 years. Charles enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He was a giver, and enjoyed helping people.
His survivors include his wife of 38 years, Diana Crist; his daughter: Trina Rodgers & husband Marc Rodgers of Blue Springs; his grandson: Loren Rodgers; five siblings: Daniel Helmig, Rose Beck & husband Kenneth, Jerry Helmig & wife Louise, James Helmig, all of Cross Timbers, MO, & Connie Helmig of Warsaw, MO; and many nieces & nephews.
