Herman F. Branstetter III, 81, of Kansas City, MO, passed away February 19, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda Doyle Branstetter; four children, Rhonda (Gene) Snyder of Pheonix, AZ, Shelly (David) Leatherman of Kansas City, Lee Branstetter of Kansas City; six grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Herman honorably served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. After the Navy, Herman worked at MoBay Chemical until retirement. Herman and Wanda were very active in their church and active members of The Gideons Int’l. They enjoyed traveling all over the world. Services will be held at the New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 Blue Rd., Independence, MO 64058. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., funeral to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Gideons Int’l at Gideons.org.
