Daniel Buchan, 78, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2006 at his home. He will be cremated. A gathering of family and friends in celebration of his life will be held at a later time.

Daniel was born on April 2, 1928 in Grindstone, PA, the son of Milan & Sally (Chalich) Buchan. He married Rose Marie Bozick on April 22, 1950. Daniel and Rose Marie have resided in Blue Springs for the past 34 years. He had served in the Merchant Marines. Daniel was a salesman for the Reed-Prentice Co. until retiring in 1993. Daniel was an avid motorcyclist, a member of the Sierra Club, and a Master Gardener. A son, Dana Buchan, preceded him in death in 1992.

His survivors include his wife of 55 years: Rose Marie Buchan of the home; a son: Reid David Buchan & Wife Merylle of Fresno, CA; two daughters: Georgette Hillenbrand & husband Ken of Bedford, OH, and Kathleen Sweet & husband William of Blue Springs; five grandchildren; and on great-granddaughter.
