Joseph Reneau Combs, 18, of Lone Jack, Missouri passed away on Friday, August 25, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31st at Colbern Road Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the church youth programs.

Joseph was born on May 13, 1988, in Seoul, South Korean, to Joseph E. and Elizabeth J. (Reneau) Combs. He was a Senior at Grain Valley High School, where he lettered in football and track, and also played basketball. Joseph was also a Boy Scout and a member of the Colbern Restoration Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ.

His survivors include his parents: Joseph “Ted” and Elizabeth Combs of the home; two brothers: Jeremiah Jennings & wife, Ellen of Blue Springs, MO, and Zachary Combs & wife, Bridget of Blue Springs, MO; one sister: Amanda Combs of Independence, MO; his paternal grandparents: Charles & Lina Combs of Duncanville, TX; his maternal grandparents: James & Joan Reneau of Independence, Mo; his maternal great-grandmother: Alice Reneau of Independence, MO; and a nephew and niece: Alexander & Carmen Jennings of Blue Springs, MO.
