Earl Lee Davis, 89, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 17th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; interment of ashes in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Earl was born in Merriam, Kansas, the son of Zackariah and Neta Pearl (Madden) Davis. He was a member of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and Korea. Earl was a truck driver for Nationwide Papers and was an active member of the Teamsters Union. He was a very skilled mechanic & machinist, making car parts and wrought iron furniture. Earl was also a good carpenter and built his lake home, where he loved telling stories & jokes, and entertaining his family & friends. He enjoyed watching westerns, boating, fishing, skiing, and hunting.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice in 2002, four brothers, and one sister.
His survivors include two daughters: Brenda (Cosmo) Sprofera of Grain Valley, MO, & Shirley Silvey; one brother, Paul (Cecelia) Davis of Warsaw, MO; and six grandchildren: Michelle (Bill) Shier, Jamie (David) Fleetwood, Scott (Mandy) Newland, Kali (Rodney) Erdman, Samuel (Chris) Silvey, and Corbina (Glen) Rozzel.
