Leon Wesley Davis, 61, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 4th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3rd at the funeral home.
Leon was born August 27, 1948, in Independence, MO, the son of Zedric and Erma (Jones) Davis. He graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1966 and attended CMSU. Leon retired from Lee’s Summit School District. He also worked at Sears Catalog for 22 years. He enjoyed fly-fishing, deer hunting, & nature trail bicycle riding. Leon loved spending time with his family & grandkids.
His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Francine Davis of the home; two sons: Aaron Davis of Blue Springs & Jeff Davis & his wife, Kim of Grain Valley; two grandchildren: Kyler & Keegan Davis; his mother: Erma Davis of Grain Valley; one sister: Sharon Bessenbacher & her husband, Mike of Grain Valley; niece: Teresa Conn, her husband, Rodney; nephew: Johnny Cox & his wife, Jessica, & their children, Courtney & Brittany, all of Grain Valley; and brother-in-law: John Benkovich of Kaiser, MO.
