William F. Fleming


William F. Fleming, 70, of Linneus, MO passed away February 3, 2014 at St. Mary’ Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO.

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday March 8, 2014 at Community of Christ Church 15006 E. 39th St. Independence, MO.

 William was born October 1, 1943 in Cleveland. William lived at Drum Farm in Independence, MO from the age of 13. He was a 1965 graduate of CMSU in Warrensburg, MO. William taught at Wentworth Military Academy from 1966-1968, Platte City High School in Platte City, MO in 1969 and taught at Oak Grove High School in Oak Grove, MO in 1970. He worked at Drum Farm in 1971 and Farm Bureau Insurance in 1972. William started working the Independence Post Office in 1973 and retired after 30 years of service. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Independence, MO.

William was preceded in death by his sister Sue Diley and brother Herb Fleming.

William is survived his wife Susan Fleming of the home; daughter: Fonda Fleming of Independence, MO; sons: Phillip Fleming & wife Maria of Lee’s Summit, MO, Ferren Fleming of Independence, MO, Frank Fleming & wife Traci of Warrensburg, MO; grandsons: Alex Fleming, Ethan Fleming of Lee’s Summit, MO, Dimetri Fleming of Warrensburg, MO; stepdaughter: Amanda Hidy,; stepson son-in-law: Frick Hidy; step grandson: Cole Hidy; step granddaughter: Carolina, all of Wheeling, MO; mother-in-law: Frieda Snedeger of Odessa, MO
