Roma J. George, 85, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Friday, January 4, 2013. Visitation will be 10-10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, 400 E. 14th St. Oak Grove, MO 64075.
Roma was born December 4, 1927 in Oak Grove, MO to Omar and Mary (Newburn) Corn. She was a secretary by trade. Roma married J.D. George in 1950. Roma enjoyed reading, knitting, doing cross-stitch work and her church family. She loved spending time with her son and grandchildren. Roma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.
Roma was preceded in death by her parents: Omar & Mary Corn; and husband, J.D. George in 1970.
Roma is survived by her son: David George of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren: John George II and Courtney George both of Blue Springs, MO; 1 sister in law: Ruth Corn of Odessa, MO.
