Imogene M. Walker Gouty, 80, of Independence, MO (formerly of Oak Grove), passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City. A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; private burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove.
Imogene was born August 7, 1926 in Carthage, MO, the daughter of Charles & Minnie (Brasher) O’Neil. She married Sumner D. Walker on September 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1998. She married Paul Gouty in October of 1999. Imogene was a homemaker and mother. At one time she had been employed as a hospital receptionist. She was a member of Outreach Restoration Church.
Her survivors include her husband, Paul Gouty of the home; three children: Michael Walker & wife Pamela, Thomas Walker & wife Patricia, and Cherie Finley & husband Richard, all of Oak Grove; one brother: Richard O’Neil of Colorado; four step-children: Paul Gouty Jr. of Lee’s Summit, and Mark Gouty, Susan Shelton & Marcia Ryel, all of Independence; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren & step-great grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
