Russell Wayne “Rusty” Green, 47, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home in Grain Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 29th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. A Graveside will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.
Russell was born on June 2, 1963, in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Stan Sr. and Jackie (Smith) Green. He graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1981. He never married. Russell was an auto mechanic and also spent several years as a bartender, working at the Kansas City Club before moving back to Grain Valley in 2000 where he helped his dad and brother on the family farm. He was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church and attended MCAA Church in Kansas City as an adult. Russell was also a member of Darts Over Missouri and IGBO Bowling League.
He is survived by his parents; one brother: Stan Green Jr. of Grain Valley; two sisters: Regina Smith of Grain Valley, Darlene Jones & her husband, Bill, of Bates City, MO; two nieces: Nicki Wolfe & Shelby Smith; two nephews: Jacoby Green & Riley Smith; and one great-nephew: Jaydon Sprouse.
