Donald Wayne Griffin, 81, of Independence, MO, formerly of Oak Grove, MO passed away November 4, 2014.
Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday November 8, 2014 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Sni Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald’s name to Cancer Action, 4010 S. Lynn Court, Independence, MO 64055
Donald was born August 11, 1933 in Elijah, MO to Roy & Alice (Kimball) Griffin. Donald worked as a Superintendent at the Post Office. On July 23, 2011 Donald married Barbara Sherman. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Donald attended First Baptist Church Raytown and he enjoyed showing antique cars and piloting small aircraft.
Donald was preceded in death by his first wife: Audrey Griffin in 2010; 3 brothers: Dale, Mearl and Billy.
Donald is survived by his wife Barbara Griffin of the home; 3 daughters: Donita Hartzler (Didi Lazarus) of Kansas City, MO, Janice Deering (Rich) of Harlingen, TX, Caralynn Woody (Darin) of Grain Valley, MO; 1 step daughter: Kelly Coffelt (Bryan) of Grain Valley, MO; 1 brother: Art Griffin (Frieda) of Mt. Grove, MO; 3 grandchildren: Russell Hartzler, Jerry Hartzler, Jana Scarborough.
