Barbara Rose Hanke, 76, of Raytown, MO passed away Friday October 11, 2013. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 NW R D Mize Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Barbara was born March 5, 1937 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Morris & Wanetta (Lockwood) Favory. Barbara married Rev. Karl Hanke on April 13, 1957. She was a homemaker and also served as a pastor’s wife in the Lutheran churches in Waverly, IA, Monett, MO, Hiawatha, IA, Macomb, IL and Ottawa, IL.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Morris & Wanetta Favory; husband, Rev. Karl Hanke in 2006; and son, Karl Hanke III in 2002.
Barbara is survived by 2 sons: Kevin Hanke & wife Margie of Blue Springs, MO, Kris Hanke & wife Melissa of Raytown, MO; daughter, Karina Rathenberg & husband Mark of Raytown, MO; daughter-in-law, P.J. Hanke of Raytown, MO; 2 brothers: Robert Favory and Morris Favory both of Ft. Wayne IN; 12 grandchildren: Rev. Will Hanke, Luke Hanke, Audra Pirch, Maranda Oelklaus, Kacey Rosson, Israel Hanke, Alexa Siems, Andrew Hanke, Carissa Kinman, Chelsea Waller, Cayla Waller, Isabel Hanke, & Jessica Vazquez; and 12 great-grandchildren.
