Eleanor Avis Hatch, 85, of Independence, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Vitas Hospice in Research Hospital. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29th at St. Paul Methodist Church, Independence. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Methodist Church of Vitas Hospice.
Eleanor was born August 28, 1927 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Earl and Cecelia (Helgelien) Woodford. September 3, 1950, she married Burton Hatch. She liked to garden, read, participate in Bible Studies, and spend time with her family.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Burton; her parents, Earl & Cecelia Woodford; her daughter, Susan McClain; and her son-in-law, James Payne.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Douglas Mark Hatch of Independence, MO; daughter, Rebecca Payne of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Orville Woodford of Missoula, MT; three grandchildren, Katrina Hora, Steffany Payne, & Sara Payne; and one great-granddaughter, Emily Hora.
