John E. Hennrich


On September 20, 2013, John Everett Hennrich of Oak Grove, MO, 77, was called home to the Lord his Savior.  He was relieved of his pain and suffering he had endured for many years making it too difficult to leave the house.  Following cremation, Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m., with a sole Memorial Mass at 5:00 p.m. on October 2, 2013 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 416 W. 12th Street, Kansas City, MO; reception immediately following mass.  In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

John was born on August 9, 1936, in Independence, MO, the son of Arthur and Beulah Hennrich.  John grew up in Gardner, KS and graduated from Gardner High School in 1954.  He served in the National Guard.  John and his wife, Shirley, were married on June 14, 1958.  For many years, John and Shirley owned and operated Spring Lake Garden Center in Independence, MO, as well as Castle Car Washes in the area.  John continued his spirit of giving even in his death by donating his tissue and eyes to the Midwest Transplant Network to help others in need. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beulah.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Hennrich; son, Kevin (Patty) Hennrich; daughter, Kelly Hennrich and husband Carl Snyder; brother, Larry (Orpha) Hennrich; grandchildren, Afton (Lorenzo) Nelson, Abrah Hennrich and Addison Hennrich; as well as nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and neighbors.
