Gordon Vance Hill, 82, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Odessa City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Gordon was born November 2, 1931 in Odessa, Missouri, the son of Ernie and Martha (Quigley) Hill. He served his country in the United States Army. Gordon married Dorothy Marie Pallette July 6, 1953. He retired from Bendix in December 1990, after 39 years of service. Gordon was a tinkerer and loved his show cars, which included a Fierro & Chevy Pick-Up, as well as his Cub Cadet tractors. Most of all, he loved his family.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents & infant daughter, Theresa Hill.
His survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marie Hill of the home; three daughters: Lisa & husband, Mike Withrow of Odessa, Janene & husband, Mike Thibault of Lenexa, KS, & Nancey Hill of Odessa; four grandchildren: Dustin & wife, Andrea Withrow of Blue Springs, MO & Andrea’s sister, Hannah DeLong, TaLeah & husband, Nick Willig of Odessa, Whitney & husband, Chris Reynolds of Odessa, & Kaylee Thibault of Lenexa; one great-granddaughter, Addilynn Willig; one brother, Tom & wife, Gwen Hill of Odessa; and sister, Rita Boedeker of Higginsville, MO.
