Larry R. Jobe, 61, of Grain Valley, Mo. departed this world August 23, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.
Larry was born July 23, 1950 to Lyman A. and Eunice F. (Shoemaker) Jobe who preceded him in death. He graduated from Northeast High School and had technical degrees from the B&CMA and Kansas State (AIB). Most of Larry’s working career was as Director and Plant Manager of the Sunshine Biscuit, Keebler, and Kellogg plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
He firmly believed in giving to one’s community and fellow man. He served on the boards of Fairfax Industrial Association, Holiday Lakes Association and HOA Pop Warner Football. He was a Mason, a member of Optimist Intl, Focus on Grain Valley and Ararat Shrine, where he was a proud Greeter and Jester.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife Glenda of the home; two sons, Anthony Alexander (Debbie) of Grain Valley, Brian Jobe (Andii) of Jefferson City and daughter Dawn Wallner (Brad) of Angola, Africa; two sisters, Jerretta Peterson Delbert and Betty Harkless; six grandchildren, Mikayla, Mavrick, Mitchel, Jaxson, Kennedy and Rafaiki and other family members.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26th at the funeral home, followed by the Rose Ceremony conducted by the Royal Order of Jesters; interment at 3:00 p.m. in Olean Cemetery, Olean, MO. The family suggests contributions to Shriners Children’s Hospital, Ararat Temple, 5100 Ararat Dr., K.C., MO 64129.
