Louie Anton Johnson, 96, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, April 26th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am until service time.
Louie was born April 15, 1912 in Niobrara, Nebraska, the son of Lucas & Landa (Conradson) Johnson. He married Myrtle Jensen on November 26, 1942, and she preceded him in death on August 18, 2000 after 58 years of marriage. Louie was a retired commercial painter. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Community of Christ Church.
His survivors include two sons: James A. Johnson of Tenino, Washington and Jay W. Johnson and wife, Dana of Grain Valley, Missouri; one daughter: Virginia L. Potter and husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO; and four grandchildren: Jacob M. Potter, Rachael Potter, Lucas J. Johnson, Jared A. Johnson & Albert J. Johnson.
He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
