Mary Ann Forbes McIntyre Kilgore passed away in her home with her family beside her at the age of 72 on Sunday, November 2, 2014, after fighting a four month battle with lung cancer.
Mary was born and raised in Independence, MO. She graduated from Van Horn High School and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. Her family was her whole world. Always taking care of us. She loved family gatherings at home and at the lake with friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Forbes; four brothers, Charles Forbes, Eddie Forbes, Rick Forbes and David Forbes; three sisters, Flor Collens, Evelyn Daniel and Grace Forbes; husband, Ira McIntyre; and step daughter, Deborah McGaw.
Survivors include brothers, Kenny Forbes; sister, Shirley Phillips husband, Orville Kilgore; children, daughter, Kimberly Brown, and son, Bryan McIntyre; step-children, sons, Ira (Chip) McIntyre Jr., Daniel McIntyre and Michael McIntyre, and daughters, Norma Struttman, Chris Minnick, Sydney Baker, Michelle Peden, Diane Embree and Kelly Brasill and spouses; grandchildren and step-grandchildren too numerous to mention.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at East Side Baptist Church, 19901 E. 78 Hwy., 816-796-0955. Graveside service will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery.
