Erna Koski, 87, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Independence; with visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., and a funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date at the New Salem Cemetery in Independence.
Erna was born on May 28, 1931 in Krumao, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Alois and Maria (Koller) Feyrer. She married Jan Koski on October 20, 1949 in Germany. Erna came to the United States in 1950 and was awarded citizenship in 1961. She loved working in her yard, planting flowers and trees, playing bingo, home shopping and listening to country music. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jan in 2000; one brother, Alois Feyrer; one great-grandchild, Zackery Williams; and son in law, Bill Miller.
Erna is survived by her daughter, Irene (the late Bill) Miller of Independence, MO; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Miller of Warrensburg, MO, Shelly (Justin) Clark, and Deborah Miller both of Kansas City, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Gavin and Vivienne Clark, Nevaeh Stephens, Cortes Williams, Noah Miller, Dalton Miller, Daphne Miller, and Samantha Miller; one great great-grandchild, Jordan Miller; one sister, Elfriede Petry in Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
