Brenda Starr Landis, 60, of Independence, MO was born Oct. 10, 1953 and died June 19, 2014. She graduated from Fort Osage in 1971 and later went to Electronics Institute. She worked at Time Warner Cable for 15 years after Western Electric where she met her husband of 32 years, Joe Landis. She is also survived by her father, Leonard Starr; sister: Betty Ford; brother: Jerry Starr; daughter: Cari Lang; 2 grandchildren: Casimera and Cougar Lang; her “furry kids” Black Jack, Sassy & Chase and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother: Betty Starr. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial in New Salem Cemetery.
