Marie Mae Luther, 89, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence.
Visitation service will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home at 1823 N. Blue Mills Road in Independence. Funeral service will be held immediately following from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by her burial at the New Salem Cemetery.
Marie was born on March 9, 1927 in Minnesota, but lived the majority of her life in Missouri. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney J. Luther, by whom she will be laid to rest on this day.
Marie loved her family and her church family at Christian Assembly of God. She was an avid Word Search puzzle fanatic, and was quite a character clear up to her passing.
Marie had eight children in her lifetime, one of which preceded her in death, a son George A. Cole, Jr. of Oak Grove, MO. She is survived by one son, Michael W. Cole (Debbie) of Levasy, MO; and six daughters; Dian Murphy of Austin, MN, Patricia Oles (Charles) of Sibley, MO; Virginia Banderas of Oak Grove, MO; Brenda Herford (Melvin) of St. Charles, MO; Cheryl Anderson of Independence, MO and Mildred Boyer (Kevin) of Independence, MO. She is also survived by approximately 70 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
