Macario “Mac” Mamuyac, 99, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Bristol Manor in Oak Grove. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31st in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.
Mac was born January 2, 1919, in Manila, Philippines, the son of Felipi and Maria (Asuncion) Mamuyac. He was a WWII Veteran and POW survivor of the Bataan Death March in the Philippine Islands. Mac was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army when he was captured. He was a finance manager for the U.S. Civil Service in Fort Leavenworth.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 60 years, Betty.
His survivors include his son, Constancio Mamuyac (Nancy) of Oak Grove; daughter, Betty J. Mamuyac of Florida City, FL; two sisters: Rose Abril of Leavenworth, and Pacing Abucayan of CA; and several grandchildren.
