Lewis V. Maxon


Lewis V. Maxon, 69, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2nd at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th Street, Blue Springs, MO; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO.  There will be a visitation Friday, October 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for family and close friends only.

Lewis was born March 24, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Lewis and Jewell (Jones).  He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps.  He was a Purple Heart recipient, and also received a Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal.  Lewis was the President of ASA for four years, a member of the Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce, and contributed to Women’s Health Clinic of Independence.  He was a great mechanic and an Ace at everything.

Lewis was preceded in death by a sister, Carol O’Brien.

His survivors include his wife, Thelma; his children: Timothy, Brian, Anita, Chris, Missy, Ricky, & Romie; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Patty Sharp & Judy Webber; and his dog, Buffy.
