Joe David McDonough age 82 formerly of Independence, MO passed away Friday July 20, 2018 in Union MO. Services will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2018 10 a.m. There will be a visitation on Tuesday July 24, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, MO. Burial will follow the funeral service at the New Salem Cemetery also in Independence, MO.
Joe was born November 2, 1935 in Vinita, OK the son of Elgin and Loretta (Berry) McDonough He was a member of Local Union 101 and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator till his retirement in 2001. Joe liked being the “Boss” and being outside, he also liked working in the garden, his tractor, raising cattle but most of all he loved his family and spending time with his kids.
Joe is survived by his four children, Leslie (Chip) McIntyre of Fairmount, MO. Linda (James) Small of Blue Springs, MO. Brian (Terrie) McDonough of Independence, MO. and Lisa (Travis) Knab of Union, MO. 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Aleain McNurlin of Osage Beach, MO. also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Charles Anthony Cross and one sister Elgean Cole.
