Vera Mae Metcalf, 88, of Odessa, MO, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa. Services will be Wednesday, May 5th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove: Visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. with Memorial Service following at 2:00 p.m.
Vera was born on May 23, 1921 in Smithville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jemes W. & Iva Bell (Romine) Bodiford. She married John L. Metcalf on June 26, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1975. She retired from the housekeeping department of St. Mary’s Hospital. Vera was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Kansas City, MO.
Her survivors include two sons: Charles L. Metcalf & wife Susan of Odessa, MO, and Virgil W. Metcalf of Kansas City, MO; one daughter: Sue Barclay & husband Bill of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, five sisters, sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
