Kathryn Marie Moore, 93, of Independence, MO passed away January 30, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 3rd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Kathryn was born December 20, 1919 in Powersville, MO, the daughter of Bert Harrison and Nellie Ethel (Roberts) Varner. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and making other crafts. Kathryn made the best macaroni & cheese and chocolate pudding!
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam Moore; granddaughter, Kellie Bryant; four brothers, Don, Noel, Clell & Wayne Varner; and sister, Annalee Auda.
Her survivors include three children: Candy & Lester McCarty of KCMO, Sandra Villarreal and Melody & Randy Hughes, both of Independence; four grandchildren: Lori & Gary Locker, Lisa & Scott Towler, Jason & Shelly Welch, & P.J. Sullivan; ten great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Amos Moore; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Moore, Dorothy Varner, & Virginia Couchman; and numerous nieces & nephews.
