Robin was born February 26, 1941, in San Francisco, California, the son of Frederick E. and Hazel (Cooley) Mountaine. He was in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963 at Whiteman Air Force Base. He opened Blue Springs Auto Service in 1974. He remained a mechanic until he closed Robin’s Auto Service December 1, 2012. Customers were incredibly loyal and it wasn’t uncommon to hear the phrase “I’ve been taking my car to Robin for 30 years”. Corvettes were his specialty. If you had one, Robin was known as one you could trust with any mechanical problem. Motorcycles, Vettes and boats were his favorite toys. Any sunny weekend day you could find him riding or driving. A skilled pool player and avid fisherman, he lived life to the fullest.
