John Edwin Naylor Sr., 69, of East Lynne, MO passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at his home. A Memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 26th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until service time.
John was born November 10, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Loren & Emeline ( Moffatt) Naylor. He married Carol Sue Miller on February 28, 1959. John retired after 30 years of service with the Kansas City Area Transit Authority. He had served the community of East Lynne as Mayor and as an Alderman. He was a member of the Cross Creek Baptist Mission, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1287, the Gold Wingers of Missouri Motorcycle Club, and the “D” Dude’s Car Club.
John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Loren Naylor; and a sister: Dollie Young.
His survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carol Naylor of the home; four sons: Charles Naylor & wife Wanda of Blue Springs, MO, Gerald Naylor of East Lynne, MO, John E. Naylor Jr. of East Lynne, MO, James Naylor & wife Sandy of Blue Springs, MO; a brother: Gerald W. Naylor of Richards, MO; two sisters: Wanda Keys of Grain Valley, MO and Waneta Richwine of Independence, MO; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
John will be lovingly remembered by his family and all his friends.
