David Leonard Nichols, 69, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
David was born on June 4, 1949 in Independence, MO, son of Leonard and Evelyn (Vancleave) Nichols. He owned and operated Nichols Machine for 34 years. He was Grain Valley Citizen of the year in 1992. He liked riding motorcycles, loved his family especially his grandchildren and was a strong man of faith. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Nichols.
His survivors include his wife, Sue Nichols of the home; son, Mick (Piper) Nichols of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Rachel (Chris) Bailey of Grain Valley; 10 grandchildren, Mychael (Darryl) Hoffmann of Tucson, AZ, Madyson (Kori) Cheatham of Independence, Maryssa (and fiancé, Aaron Larson) Bailey of Blue Springs, Maggy Bailey of Grain Valley, Maycee Bailey of Grain Valley, Maveryk Bailey of Grain Valley, Micah Nichols of Minneapollis, MN, Mathieu Nichols of Jacksonville, Marcus Nichols of Jacksonville and Madeline Nichols of Jacksonville; 2 sisters, Beverly (Richard) Jones and Barbara (Michael) Clark; 2 brothers, Bill (Fran) Nichols and Don (Crissy) Nichols; and sister-in-law, Peggy Nichols.
