Troy Norris, 71, of Grain Valley, MO and Wheatland, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 20, 2012, after a short, but valiant fight with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22nd at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Troy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was an avid fisherman & hunter, and loved to do both as often as he could. Troy worked for General Motors for 30 years and was a proud member of the UAW.
Troy is survived by his wife Melanie Norris; children, Todd Norris & wife Sheila, and Missy Koonce & partner Stacie; grandchildren, Jacqueline Settle & husband Kaleb, and Kyle Norris; great grandson, Jackson Settle; siblings, Dorothy “Dot” Hall, Betty Ramsey, Glenda Green, and Herman Norris Jr. & wife Donna; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and all of the “adopted” kids he picked up along the way. Papa Troy was truly a man who believed in family first and he will be sorely missed by all of those whom he loved and loved him so dearly.
