Janice Sue(Jan) Eaves Oppenheimer, 67, of Independence, MO passed away on January 9, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her husband and many friends.

Jan was born in St. Louis, MO on August 3, 1946, the daughter of James Clarence and Mayme L. (Resinger) Eaves. Jan worked for the Kansas City Star for 31 years before retiring in 2001. On June 26, 1993, she married the love of her life, Charles Oppenheimer.  Jan also known as “Sammy Sue,” loved to scrapbook, sew and make crafts.   She often made gifts for friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother.  Survivors include her husband, of the home, sister-in-law, Debbie St. Peter, and aunt, Mary Eaves of Farmington, MO, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
