Johnnie Vincent Pastori, age 90, was born on January 12, 1925, in Kansas City Missouri where he lived most of his life. He was the son of Emilio (Emmett) Pastori and Alvernia Pastori (Close). He went home to be with his Savior on July 7, 2015 with hospice at home in Independence Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Pastori; two brothers, Donald Pastori and Ernest Pastori; and daughter, Lyndia Padgett.
John married the love of his life, Mary Helen McBee on April 6, 1973. Together they had six daughters by marriage: Lyndia June Padgett and her husband Lawrence Padgett, Loretta Jean Newton and her husband Jerry Newton, Shirley J Searcy and her husband, Raymond Searcy, Linda Diane Pastori, Luanna Joyce Schmitz and her husband Tommy Schmitz, and Leveta Jo Lindley and her husband Jerry Lindley. One remaining Aunt, Ester Govorchin and her husband John Govorchin. Together they had 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends and family members.
John served his country in World War II in the United States Army from 1943 – 1945. As well as serving his country, he also he served our Lord and Savior. He will be missed by all his family and loved ones. We will remember his awesome sense of humor. He had an innate ability to light up a room with his personality and loving heart.
Family will celebrate his life with friends during visitation at New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 Blue Mills Road, Independence Mo., on Friday, July 10, 2015, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service.
