Carrie Suzanne “Suzy” Pope, 73, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Services League in Oak Grove.
Suzy was born June 20, 1945, in Winchester, Indiana, the daughter of Clay E. and Barbara J. (Oler) Starbuck. She was an LPN at Truman Medical Center East in Long Term Care and had worked at Harmons, as well. Suzy enjoyed fishing, camping, working in the yard, gardening, and especially spending time with her family.
Suzy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne Pope in 1994; son, Louie Pyles in 2017; and brother, John R. Starbuck.
Her survivors include three sons: Tony Pyles (Loretta) of Muncie, IN, Billy Pope (Kelly) of Oak Grove, and Frank Pope (Pam) of Oak Grove; daughter, Barbara Hayes (Jason “Bush”) of Mayview, MO; two sisters: Nancy Ledbetter of Oak Grove, and Sally Martin (Tim) of Decatur, IN; eleven grandchildren: Savannha, Nathan, Isaiah, Charlee, Jessica, Jake, Courtney, Cameron, Riley, Bobby, and Lacy; and ten great-grandchildren.
