Richard Edward Preston, 52, of Levasy, Missouri, passed away October 8, 2006 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Liver Foundation.

Richard was born on August 1, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Stanton C. and L. June (Holland) Preston. He was a 1973 graduate of Truman High School and attended Bell & Howell (DeVry) Technical College. Richard was retired from the IRS. He was a member of the Grain Valley Christian Church. He was receded in death by his mother and grandparents.

His survivors include his father: Stanton of Independence, MO; one daughter: Patience Preston of Independence, MO; one grandson: Rylan Preston; two sisters: Carrie Gonzales & her husband, George of Levasy, MO, and Robin Wellman & her husband, Roger of Independence, MO; two nieces, four nephews, three great-nieces & three great-nephews.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
