Violet G. Ray, 75, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23rd at River Blvd. Baptist Church, 3212 N. River Blvd., Independence, MO 64050. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Violet was born January 14, 1937 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William R. and Opal G. (Griffith) Martin. She retired from Raytown School District where she worked as a bus driver.
Violet was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Curts, and a grandson, Timothy Harvey.
Her survivors include her fiancé, Robert Bellis; son, Joseph & Loraine Bellis; daughter, Cynthia Harris; son, William Bellis; son, Scott Ray; nine grandchildren: Shawn Bellis, Christina Strange, Laura Harvey, Tammy Freund, Aaron Bellis, Lisa Montgomery, William Bellis Jr., Shannon Bauerle, & Leila Reese; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
