Robert “Bob” L. Riddle Sr., 78, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11th at Royer’s New Salem in Independence; burial following in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Bob was born June 24, 1940, in Little Blue, Missouri, the son of Jess W. & Christine E. (Wolf) Riddle. He married Sharon K. Brizendine on January 7, 1963. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Armco Steel in 1988. Bob was a member of the American Legion post #421. He enjoyed fishing, scratching lottery tickets, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon Riddle of the home; daughter, Shaunna Weatherly & husband Tim of Greenwood, MO; three sons: Robert Riddle Jr. & wife Brenda of Independence, MO, Roger Riddle & wife Christy of Plattsburg, MO, and John Riddle & wife Jennifer of Plattsburg, MO; two brothers: Joe Riddle and Don Riddle & wife Mary, all of Independence; two sisters: Janet Berry & husband Dale, and Pat Cisco, all of Independence; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
